Cusgarne Manor

Branding, photography and website design for this beautiful countryside manor house

Attention to detail at every level in a stunning restoration project.

Tucked away in peaceful, rural mid-Cornwall is Cusgarne Manor, a beautiful and historic Grade II* Listed farmhouse that has recently been completely restored and opened as a luxury B&B by owner Fiona.

Fiona approached us during the restoration work and talked us through her plans and ideas. We wanted to create branding that reflected the peaceful rural location - aesthetically very different from rugged coastal Cornwall - as well as respecting the age and historic importance of the building. Inspiration was taken from Fiona's interior design choices. A big fan of the Arts and Crafts movement, she had selected rich tones, William Morris prints, original artworks and antique furniture.

The design was inspired by colours and shapes selected by Fiona for the walls and soft furnishings - the leaf is from a beautiful English Oak tree that stands proud in the manor's very own nature reserve, sketched and turned into a logo and given some extra special copper foil treatment on stationery. Hand-painted signage inside and out provided the finishing touch.

We visited Cusgarne Manor several times for photoshoots, capturing the changing seasons as well as progress to ongoing work - they are still working hard on some barn conversions which will open as self-catering units in the next 12 months or so.

I had a clear idea of who my customers would be and needed help to interpret my vision for Cusgarne Manor to get the brand positioning spot on. Ayr did just that. The branding, website design and photography have really brought the business to life and are working well to attract my ideal customers. Ayr did a fantastic job on this and we are going to continue to reap the benefits for years to come.
